Position Overview: This role will help develop, implement, and facilitate a new P&C pre-licensing program, new agency new hire training program, and the development of new on-line learning modules for OIA. The programs will be an avenue to help recruit and hire new talent into the independent insurance industry by supporting them through the licensing and agency onboarding process. The goal is to help member agencies identify and train new employees to be successful. Once the program is established this role could continue to grow/expand by developing and facilitating additional training programs.
Position Mission: Drive the development and execution of OIA’s new pre-licensing and onboarding programs to bring new talent into the industry and help train new employees for member agencies. We are a small team so the ideal candidate will be okay with instructional design as well as training coordination/administrative tasks.
Requirements
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in training, Instructional Design, eLearning Design, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or equivalent experience developing training (3-5 years). The ideal candidate will have experience developing eLearning and webinar training courses.
Preferred Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: This position does not require P&C industry experience. The best candidate will be able to use needs assessment, and SMEs on staff to develop relevant training. Experience/Designations in instructional design, eLearning design strongly preferred. In addition experience with Adobe Captivate and LMS administration.

Mission-Critical Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate a P&C pre-licensing course for OIA.
- Develop and facilitate a new hire training/onboarding program for agencies.
- Administer our Learning Management System Elevate by Cadmium
- Conduct a needs assessment by visiting member agencies to determine training needs and objectives to help new employees be successful.
- Use good instructional design and adult learning theory to develop a training course that will increase the likelihood participants will pass the exam.
- Train participants on customer service basics, cross-sell/up-sell and other topics that will help them be successful in an agency setting.
- Teach participants methodology for understanding and researching policies to help resolve customer questions.
- Learn agency management software basics to prepare participants.
- Design learning solutions in multiple modalities including, but not limited to, web-based training, virtual instructor-led training, video-based training, and live in-person instructor-led training.
- Research new content and interview subject matter experts to assess and validate training content and instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, teams, and subject matter experts to drive effective learning design.
- Maintain/update training materials, records, and checklists.
- Collaborate with Director of HR Solutions, Director of Professional Development and other departments to surface training needs and opportunities.
