The Ohio Insurance Agents Association (OIA) is proud to announce the continued success of its Property & Casualty (P&C) Pre-Licensing Program. Through the first half of the year, students participating in OIA’s program have achieved a 72% pass rate, significantly exceeding Ohio’s statewide average of 59%.

In addition to outperforming the state average, OIA’s results compare favorably with several national pre-licensing providers, including Excel and ExamFX, while remaining competitive with other leading industry programs. Students who retake the licensing exam after completing OIA’s program have also seen impressive success, achieving a 65% pass rate compared to the statewide average of 30%.
OIA developed its P&C Pre-Licensing Program at the direction of its Board of Directors to offer an alternative to the predominantly online, self-directed national providers. The program combines the flexibility of self-paced learning with the benefits of live, instructor-led webinar sessions, creating a hybrid learning experience designed to support a variety of learning styles.
A key component of the program’s success is its dedicated team of instructors. Unlike many national providers, OIA’s instructors work full time within the insurance industry through OIA and the Greater Cincinnati Insurance Board, bringing real-world experience and practical knowledge directly into the classroom.
Students who fully engage with the program’s study tools, practice exams, and instructional resources consistently achieve strong results. OIA Training Specialist Rachel Davis plays a particularly important role in supporting student success, offering personalized guidance, exam preparation advice, and one-on-one assistance to students who need additional help. This support is available to both hybrid and self-study participants.
“OIA is passionate about helping agencies develop the next generation of insurance professionals,” said Rachel Davis, Training Specialist at OIA. “When students take advantage of the resources available to them through our program and commit to the learning process, we see outstanding results.”
For agencies looking to onboard and develop new talent, there has never been a better time to explore OIA’s pre-licensing offerings. Upcoming hybrid P&C courses are available in August, September, and October, and OIA’s 100% self-study option is available year-round for maximum flexibility.
