State Representative Brian Lampton (R-Beavercreek) has been named Chair of the Ohio House Insurance Committee. Lampton is serving his second term for the 70th House District, which includes parts of Greene County and has been the owner and operator of Lampton/Engle Associates Insurance for over 30 years.  

As chair of the committee, Lampton will oversee legislation, determine when and which bills will be heard, as well as decide what bills will be voted out of committee and continue through the legislative process.   

Lampton/Engle Associates Insurance have been members of OIA since 1988. Since being elected to the Ohio House two years ago, Lampton has been actively engaged in OIA activities including advocacy day and supportive on key issues affecting IA’s, insurance industry, and the business community. 

Joining Lampton on the committee is vice chair Tim Barhorst (R-Fort Loramie) who is a financial advisor and health insurance agent serving his first term at the Ohio House.  

The rest of the insurance committee has yet to be announced.
